During pregnancy things that are forbidden included undercooked meats or raw meats, fish that are high in mercury like shark and swordfish, alcohol, smoking and unpasteurized milk and dairy including cheeses.

You should also avoid certain medications, hot tubs and harsh chemicals.

When pregnant you should avoid raw seafood, deli meats and unpasteurized soft cheeses to prevent listeria as well as salmonella.

If you drink alcohol, you should stop drinking all alcohol completely immediately during pregnancy and avoid any extreme heat like saunas or hot tuns as they can affect the development of the fetus and also avoid harsh chemicals like certain strong cleaning products as well specific retinal skincare treatments.

Your overall health as well as your medical history and lifestyle factors such as exercise and your diet and any pre-existing health issues like high blood pressure or diabetes are also better indicators on whether or not your pregnancy may be high risk, regardless of how old or young you are.

Fertility also naturally begins to see a gradual decline in your early 30s.

It's also recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists that women under the age of 35 should try to conceive for 12 months before they seek fertility evaluations, and women 35 and over should seek help after 6 months of trying to conceive.

Medically and even historically, age 35 is the milestone in which doctors also begin to classify pregnancies as advanced maternal age.

Although this categorization of advanced maternal age does not always mean that the pregnancy will automatically have any complications and many pregnancies go through just fine.

Although it also prompts the doctors to recommend closer monitoring and additional genetic screenings.

Most doctors consider getting pregnant after age 35 to be high risk.

First-time mothers who are older than 35 have a higher chance of certain problems during their pregnancy.

A woman typically loses 90% of her eggs by the time she is 30 years old. Starting with about 1 to 2 million eggs at birth, the ovarian reserve drops to around 100,000 to 150,000 by age 30, and only about 3% remain by age 40.

While the quantity of eggs decreases drastically in your 20s and early 30s, the decline in egg quality is what most directly impacts fertility as you get older.
