When rabbits are kept as pets or left out in the wild and not killed for meat the rabbits have a lifespan of between 10 to 15 years.

But when rabbits are killed or butchered for meat they only live for around 3 months before they're butchered for the meat.

So that rabbit meat you've eaten or are gonna eat came from a rabbit who only lived for around 3 months at most before being butchered.

Rabbit meat is delicious too and I wish I had more available to me but I can't butcher any rabbits and have to have a friend do it for me on their farm.

His rabbits get butchered at around 3 months although some make it until 4 to 5 months before he butchers them.
