The organ that cleans toxins from your body is the liver, which is the body's primary organ that is responsible for detoxification.

The liver filters your blood and neutralizes harmful substances like alcohol, medication and metabolic waste and converts them into waste products so they can safely be eliminated.

Your kidneys also filter toxins and waste products from your blood to be excreted as urine or pee.

The intestines and colon also eliminate waste from your digestive tract and bind toxins through dietary fiber and the lungs also filter airborne toxins and expel carbon dioxide.

And the skin is what excretes toxins and heavy metals through sweat.

The part of the body that holds the most toxins is the adipose tissue or fat cells, bone marrow and bones and the liver and the kidneys.

Harmful substances and toxins in the body are processed by your liver and your kidneys and then safely stored in other tissues or eventually eliminated.

Although the body does not have a single holding place for the toxins.

Any fat soluble toxicants like persistent organic pollutant, pesticides and certain heavy metals are stored in the adipose tissue or fat cells.

Adipose tissue can hold up to 100 to 1,000 times higher concentrations of these chemicals than blood or lean tissues.

And then heavy metals like cadmium and lead and radioactive materials are primarily stored in the bones because your body mistakes them for calcium.

And while the body's liver and kidneys act as your body's filtration system to neutralize and process waste, the liver and the kidneys also temporarily hold onto and metabolize toxins, which leaves the liver and kidneys at the highest risk of toxin induced damage.

When your body's natural detoxification pathways like your kidneys, liver and gut are overwhelmed by any environmental pollutants stress or poor diet it can send out warning signals, which include persistent fatigue, mental fog, digestive problems like constipation or bloating, unexplained weight gain and skin issues like rashes or acne.

The body's response to an overload of toxins often manifests itself in several ways include.

Digestive Distress, where a sluggish system can result in gas, bloating, constipation, indigestion or even diarrhea, and the digestive distress disrupts gut bacteria and further impedes your body's ability to process waste.

Feeling constantly drained or lethargic, even after you get a full nights rest, also suggests that the body is working overtime to eliminate waste.

Accumulating environmental toxins or heavy metals can also impair cognitive function and result n poor focus, memory issues and even frequent and unexplained headaches.

And because the skin acts as a secondary detoxification organ, having an overworked liver can also force your body to expel impurities through your skin, which leads to acne, rashes or dullness.

Certain toxins can also accumulate in fat cells and disrupt your metabolism and make it more difficult to lose weight even with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Also endocrine disrupting chemicals and a disrupted gut can also negatively impact your neurotransmitters and contribute to mood swings, anxiety and irritability.
