Parchment paper should not be used with open flames or long periods of heat or when baking in temperatures above 400 F degrees.

If baking in temperatures above 400 F you should use foil instead.   

Parchment paper can be used in an air fryer up to 428 F.

It's better to use parchment paper in the oven when you need foods to easily slide off such as cakes, cookies, pipes etc.

Parchment paper unlike foil does not require greasing either.

If baking something such as turkey, chicken or other meats then foil is better.
