Kumquats are edible and they are delicious and healthy for you as well.

The best way to eat Kumquats is whole and unpeeled although you can cut them up and peel them if you would like too.

The seeds of Kumquats are not poisonous, but they have the same bitter taste as orange seeds.

If you're feeling dainty, slice the kumquat in half and pluck out the seeds.

You can easily spit the seeds out as you eat instead, or even chew them up if you don't mind the flavor.

Pull off the nubs of green stems as well.

Benefits of eating Kumquats include gallstone depletion, encourages weight loss, helps the digestive system, aids in controlling your blood sugar, helps in glowing skin, has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties, supports hair growth, protects against scurvy, improves bone density, boosts metabolism.

Kumquats are best eaten whole and unpeeled.

The kumquats sweet flavor actually comes from the peel, while their juice is tart.

The only caveat is that if you're allergic to the peel of common citrus fruits, you may need to pass up kumquats.

If the tart juice turns you off, you can squeeze it out before eating the fruit.

Kumquats, or cumquats in Australian English, are a group of small fruit-bearing trees in the flowering plant family Rutaceae.

They were previously classified as forming the now-historical genus Fortunella or placed within Citrus, sensu lato.

Kumquats have a flavor of their own, and as you'll learn, the juice is quite sour, whilst the skin is sweet (when fully ripe).

They don't taste like oranges because they are a different fruit, however, they are still citrus, so it won't be a shocking flavor you will be surprised by.
