It takes around 10 to 15 minutes to boil 21 25 shrimp.

Add 8 cups water and bring to a boil over med/high heat. 2.

Once water boils, add the peeled and deveined shrimp and simmer until pink, about 2-3 minutes depending on the size of the shrimp.

Drain and transfer cooked shrimp to a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process and let cool.

For the best shrimp it's always better to steam cook your shrimp instead of boiling the shrimp.

Steaming the shrimp also helps to lock in the shrimps flavor and makes for a tastier shrimp.

The thing that appears as a vein in shrimp is actually an intestinal tract and not a vein and contains poop.

What appears as a vein is actually an intestinal track, brown or blackish in color, and is the body waste, aka poop. It is also a filter for sand or grit.

None of which you want to eat.

To get the vein out of shrimp you can remove the vein from the shrimp by making a slit along the middle of the back of the shrimp with a small sharp knife and pull the dark vein (sometimes clear).

You can also use a toothpick to remove the vein.

Insert the toothpick closer to the tail section to make a small slit and pull out the vein.

Eating shrimps with its vein won't kill you, nor will you fall sick as long as you cook the shrimp properly.

It is because when cooked, the bacteria in the shrimp die as they are placed on heat.

However, when not deveined and eaten raw, it could cause harm as the bacteria in them are still active.

Since shrimp can actually be eaten raw undercooked shrimp is okay to eat for most people.

Undercooked shrimp can be eaten.

In fact shrimp can be eaten raw as well so undercooked shrimp is fine for you as long as you're not pregnant.

Frozen shrimp can be eaten raw as long as you're not pregnant.

Shrimp can be eaten raw or undercooked as long as you're not pregnant.

If you're pregnant you should not eat raw shrimp or any raw fish as it could contain parasites that could cause health issues with the unborn baby and pregnancy.

Also there's a small chance that you could get sick from bacteria and parasites that the raw shrimp could contain.

However many people safely eat raw shrimp all the time without getting sick.

Some people have eaten raw shrimp and have been just fine but eating raw shrimp is really not all that safe and not recommended.

When you eat raw shrimp you risk getting food poisoning from the raw shrimp due to bacteria that can be contained in the raw shrimp.

Raw Shrimp also tastes awful at least to me when i tried it and couldn't get even one piece of raw shrimp down my throat.

According to health regulations the shrimp is unsafe to eat when raw and it's not recommended.

Always cook the shrimp and any other shell fish to prevent the possibility of getting food poisoning.
