To tell if soup has gone bad you can smell it and even look at it.

When soup has gone bad it will usually have a sour smell to it or may take on a slimy look and texture and it may also have mold in it.

Soup can go bad in the fridge.

Soup is good for about 3 to 4 days in the fridge.

If the soup has meat in the soup then it will usually be good for about 3 days but if the soup has no meat then the soup is good for about 4 days in the fridge.

To keep soup longer than 3 to 4 days you can freeze it.

Place the soup in a freezer safe container and then the soup will keep for over a year when frozen.

Although it's best to eat the soup within a few months of freezing it for the best taste and quality.

The soup as it stays in the freezer longer it gets less tasty but it's still safe to eat.

Bad soup will have a sour smell to it or a bad taste to it.

Bad soup will sometimes also have mold in it or also become slimy and if so throw it out.

A general rule of thumb is that soup can be stored in the refrigerator for about three days, but you should always taste your dish before deciding to reheat.

A clear, vegetable-based soup with some acidity, such as tomatoes, may last longer.

Chicken soup usually lasts three to five days.
