Old coffee can make you sick if the old coffee has mold in it or the old coffee has actually gone bad.

However old coffee that has just been left out overnight or for only 24 hours will not make you sick as it's safe to drink.

If the brewed coffee has been left out longer than 24 hours then the coffee could grow mold and should be thrown out.

You can refrigerate brewed coffee and reheat the coffee up.

However if just leaving the coffee overnight it's fine to leave the brewed coffee out overnight and then reheat it the next morning or whenever.

Coffee can be refrigerated whether ground coffee, bean coffee or brewed coffee.

However if it's ground coffee or bean coffee it's best to not refrigerate the coffee as it can absorb food odors and the taste and aroma can change in the coffee.

Ground Coffee should not be kept in the freezer as it will absorb the food odors and also the aroma of the coffee and the flavor of the coffee will change.

You should not refrigerate ground coffee as the change in temperatures can cause the coffee to lose it's flavor and aroma.

Coffee is best stored at room temperature in the pantry or on the counter.

The fridge is not really the best place to store coffee in any form, ground or whole bean even if in an airtight container.

It isn't cold enough to keep your coffee fresh, and because coffee works as a deodorizer, the coffee will absorb all the aromas in your fridge.

You can freeze brewed coffee.

Simply place the brewed coffee into a freezer safe container and it will last for around 4 months in the freezer.

Although frozen and thawed brewed coffee won't taste as good so you might not want to drink it.

Another use for leftover coffee is to pour some in with some ice cream which adds a nice coffee flavor to the ice cream.

I did this before and loved it.

Day old coffee does still have caffeine.

The caffeine in the coffee does not evaporate no matter how long the coffee has sat out.

Plain black coffee can sit out at room temperature for more than 24 hours after brewing. It will still be considered safe to consume, though its original flavor will be lost.

On the other hand, hot coffee with added milk or creamer shouldn't be left out for more than 1 to 2 hours.

Overnight coffee is safe to drink and you can reheat it in the microwave.

It is OK to microwave coffee.

Microwaving coffee is perfectly fine and I do it myself everyday.

However when microwaved the coffee is not as good as fresh brewed coffee is and it can become strong.

When microwaving coffee you should add a bit of water to dilute the coffee so it does not get as strong when reheated.

I usually have a half pot of coffee leftover by night and then leave it out overnight in the coffee pot.

Then I add some water to the coffee pot coffee and then pour it in a ceramic coffee mug and heat the cup of coffee in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Reheating coffee is not bad for you.

Depending on the brewing method, your reheating method, and any additives in your coffee, you will change the taste.

However, there are no bad health effects of reheating your coffee.

Reheating your coffee is fine but expect your coffee to lose its original taste.

The microwave breaks down the aromas which are the key element for giving coffee its flavors so the salt, bitter, sweet, and sour tastes that you taste in your cup.
