When deer sausage is bad it will change to a grey color and also the deer sausage will smell really bad.

The deer sausage will also take on a slimy texture and feeling to it as well.

The same is true for other sausages as well.

Raw sausage can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days before it goes bad.

Cooked sausage can last for up to 7 days in the fridge.

If you want to keep the raw sausage longer than 4 days you can and should freeze the sausage instead.

When frozen the raw sausage can last for 6 months to a year.

The raw sausage when frozen is at it's best quality if eaten within 6 months although it's still safe to eat the frozen sausage even past a year.

It's best to only keep raw sausage in the fridge for up to 2 days before cooking it.

Any longer than 2 days the raw sausage is best kept frozen to prevent it from going bad and prevent the raw sausage from growing bacteria.

How to tell if raw sausages are bad?

The best way is to smell and look at the sausages: signs of bad sausages are a sour smell, dull color and slimy texture; discard any sausages with an off smell or appearance.

And if your pork sausage has gone bad, you can tell by the sausage's smell, look, and texture.

If it has a putrid odor, a slimy coat, or a uniform color, then you shouldn't eat it.
