What is the default username and password to login to wordpress?

I installed a wordpress blog yesterday and I got it all setup and have written some posts and was gonna update the username and password but forgot to.

And now I forgot what the default username and password to the admin login on wordpress is?

The default username would be admin but I don't remember there ever being a default password when I installed my wordpress blog over 5 years ago.

There is a way to reset your admin password on wordpress though through phpmyadmin and cpanel.

Go into cpanel on your web hosting account look for phpmyadmin and click on that.
The phpmyadmin option should be under the databases section in cpanel.

Once you get into the phpmyadmin you then find the name of your wordpress database and then click on it.

Then to change the password click on the wp_users table and then click on edit beside your wordpress admin user.

There should be an option there to update your username and password.

And you should always change the default wordpress admin username from admin to another name for security reasons.
