Greek Yogurt is considered bad by some people because Greek Yogurt can be made with bones and bugs.

And just like many yogurts, some Greek varieties of yogurt also add gelatin, which is made by boiling animals' skin, tendons, ligaments, or bones.

Many also add carmine to make the yogurt appear to contain more fruit than it does.

However Greek Yogurt is not all that bad and contains calcium which is healthy.

If you eat expired yogurt and the expired yogurt has actually gone bad then you can get sick with food poisoning.

If the yogurt has just expired and is only a few days past expiration date and has been refrigerated then it's usually safe to eat.

However eating spoiled expired yogurt can make you sick so you should throw it out.

Eating expired yogurt can cause food poisoning or foodborne illness.

Bacteria also grow and accumulate on aged or improperly preserved foods, such as yogurt.

Diarrhea is a common symptom that occurs after one has consumed expired yogurt, as the body is attempting to rid itself of harmful toxins the yogurt provided.

Yogurt can sit out for 1 to hours depending on the room temperature.

If the room temperature is below 90 F degrees then the Yogurt can safely sit out at room temperature for up to 2 hours.

If the room temperature is 90 F or above then the Yogurt can safely sit out for only 1 hour before it goes bad.

Keep the yogurt refrigerated after you bring it home from the store, and do not leave yogurt at room temperature for longer than two hours or one hour if the temperature is 90 degrees F or above.

If the Yogurt is left unrefrigerated longer, bacteria can start to grow.

To tell if yogurt has gone bad look for a larger-than-normal amount of liquid on the surface (don't worry, Greek yogurt is especially prone to some, but if there's more than usual that's a warning sign), a curdling texture near the bottom, and any sign of mold.

These indicate the entire product has probably gone bad.

If you eat spoiled yogurt from an opened container, then you may have some painful stomach cramps and diarrhea (possibly nausea) shortly after ingestion.

But in both of these instances, the yogurt will taste bad—meaning, you likely won't even want to eat it in the first place.

Most symptoms of food poisoning related to yogurt include intestinal distress such as diarrhea.

Mold, slow-growing bacteria or microorganisms introduced to the yogurt from added ingredients are the typical causes of food poisoning from yogurt.

If yogurt was left out overnight the yogurt should be thrown out as it could make you sick as it would spoil if left out overnight.
