Microwaving eggs is bad because microwaving the eggs changes the taste and cooks the eggs too rapidly.

Microwaved eggs taste bad because the microwaves cook from the interior outward and sort of explode the cellular structures of the eggs.

The rapid cooking often will cause them to explode or puff high then sink like a blown soufflé.

It is safe to cook eggs in the microwave as long as you remove the eggs from the shell but they don't taste as good as eggs cooked in the skillet.

Five things you should never microwave include.

Paper bags,

Plastic bags.

Eggs in Shell.

Hard Boiled Eggs.

Aluminum Foil.

Dense vegetables such as green beans, carrots, spinach, and green peppers contain a higher amount of minerals in them than other types of food.

These minerals - which include iron, magnesium, and selenium – act like tiny pieces of metal and create what is known as an “arcing effect” in microwaves.

If the bowl is hot but not the food then the bowl is likely not microwave safe and is absorbing the microwaves instead of the food.

So try another bowl that is microwave safe and see if the food heats up.

Plastic bowls are mostly microwave safe.

If the microwave is still only heating the bowl and not the food then something could be wrong with the microwave.

Dishes that aren't themselves heated by the microwave can get hot because of the conduction of the heat from the food being cooked.

As the food heats up the heat can conduct and transfer to the dish that the food is being cooked in.

For example if you cook a bowl of noodles in the microwave the water heats up and then conducts and transfers that heat to the bowl.

Pyrex gets so hot in the microwave because of the glaze of the Pyrex.

It's normal and OK for the Pyrex to get hot in the microwave but just use oven mitts to avoid getting burned.

Pyrex is good in ovens up to 932 F degrees.

Pyrex can withstand temperatures of up to 932 degrees F.

So Pyrex can safely be used in a home oven because you're never gonna cook in a home oven to 932 F degrees.

Just make sure the Pyrex cookware is not coming from a cold freezer or refrigerator and then going directly into the oven.

If that happens the temperature change causes thermal shock which can shatter and break the Pyrex.

Also do not use the Pyrex cookware on any stove top whether electric or gas stove top burners because it can crack and break and shatter the Pyrex.

Pyrex is only meant to be used in a preheated oven.
