Salad Forks and Dinner Forks are nearly identical but the difference between a salad fork and a dinner fork is the salad fork is used for eating salads and has broader and flatter fork tines and the salad fork is also longer than the dinner fork.

A salad fork is typically 6 inches long but a dinner fork is closer to 7 inches in length.

Usually, the salad utensil also has broader and flatter tines, or prongs because it can be helpful in cutting or pressure cutting salad leaves that are too large.

The salad fork is also longer than normal forks.

There also will be a notch on the side of the fork.

The purpose of both of these details is to allow the user to remove the bones and skin from their fish using the left tine.

This can completely remove the need for a knife when eating softer fishes.
