Pringles are so expensive because of the packaging and also because they don't sell air space in the Pringles cans.

Pringles are not the regular chips, the ingredients of the product are different, the packaging style is premium , they are non greasy , each "crisp" has the exact same size and shape and they are "stackable".

A regular bag of Lay's lacks all of these of qualities.

Does that make Pringles unique? YES.

Does that create a monopoly for the product? MAYBE.

To add to their uniqueness, Pringles are sold in about a 100 different flavors around 140 countries!

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is found in all types of food, ranging from konbu to packaged chips.

There's a popular misconception that MSG is particularly bad for your health.

MSG is generally regarded as safe in moderation by the FDA and other expert organizations.

The word Pringle means to tingle annoyingly or persistently.

Scottish and English (Northumbria): habitational name from a place near Stow Roxburghshire, formerly called Hop(p)ringle, from Middle English hop 'enclosed valley' + a name of Old Norse origin composed of the byname Prjónn 'pin', 'peg' + an unidentified second element.

P&G sold Pringles because they wanted to save on a hefty capital gains tax.

P&G had agreed to sell Pringles to Diamond Foods last April, for $1.5 billion in cash. With $850 million of debt, the enterprise value was $2.35 billion on that deal, which was structured in a way that let P&G save on a hefty capital gains tax.

Most people just eat Pringles chips directly out of the can.

You can also pour the Pringles Chips in a bowl and eat them that way too.

Kellogg Co K.N agreed to buy Pringles potato chips for $2.7 billion in a cash deal that makes the cereal company second only to PepsiCo Inc PEP. N in the global snack food market.

The difference between Pringles and other chips is that Pringles are made using dehydrated potatoes while most other potato chips are made from real potatoes.

Because Pringles aren't actually made with real potato—the recipe calls for dehydrated processed potato—the FDA ruled in 1975 that Pringles could only be called "chips" if they provided a disclaimer, identifying them as "potato chips made from dried potatoes."

Pringles scrapped that idea and renamed them potato "crisps.

Pringles are so perfect due to the molding process of the Pringles chips and the main ingredients of sugar, salt and fat and some secret ingredients for flavor that are not known to the public.

The Pringles chips are rolled into a concave shape - something that allows them to be tightly stacked in Pringles tubes.

Then, the chips are fried in hot oil for 11 seconds to make them crispy, before a blowing machine gets rid of excess oil.

Pringles are Junk Food and when eaten in excess the Pringles can be really unhealthy and could lead to high blood pressure, heart disease and even weight gain.

The sugars, fat and salt are what's addictive in Pringles.

Pringles are so bad for you because of the artificial ingredients and also because of the sugar, fat and salt content in the Pringles.

Pringles don't contain any chemicals but they do contain some food additives maltodextrin, dextrose, sodium caseinate, modified food starch, monoglyceride and the Pringles are also made of 42% potato content, the remainder being wheat starch and flours (potato, corn, and rice) combined with vegetable oils, an emulsifier, salt, and seasoning.

Pringles do not have crack or any types of drugs in them.

The pringles are addictive because of the salt, flavors, fats salts and sugar.

The biggest culprits are the holy trinity of addictive junk food — fat, salt and sugar.

Around a third of every Pringle by weight is the sunflower and maize oil used in cooking, nearly 5 per cent of each crisp is made up of sugar and dextrose (another type of sugar) and, of course, there's the salt.

Pringles are iconic, and for good reason.

Their innovative and unmistakable can stands out in an aisle filled with bags.

Their curvy physique allows for food and fun—you know you've done the duck face thing with them.

And their light and airy composition encourages a long session.

Junk Foods including Pringles and other chips and snacks contain the fat, sugar, salt etc which makes then addictive as they react with your taste buds and brain.

It contains fewer calories, fat, and sodium than the original recipe, but keeps the same amount of carbs and seasoning.

Why are Pringles in a tube?

Designed by Fredric Baur in 1966, he envisioned the packaging as something that would ensure freshness, prevent damage and stand all on its own.

The Pringles can, a resealable container made from a paperboard tube, a metal bottom cap and a plastic top cap, satisfied all 3 requirements.
