It's estimated that it takes around 41 days to burn an image into a TV.

With an LED TV the image may burn into the screen sooner but with a CRT TV it typically takes 41 days or even a bit longer.

I've been experimenting with this myself on an old CRT monitor that I have and so far it's been 20 days of the image being displayed constantly.

However the image has not burned in just yet but I'll check after 41 days have passed and see if it has burned in.

I don't care about the old CRT monitor as it's old and I have no other use for it.

But I just wanted to see for sure.

Burn-in on OLED displays can start to occur between 1,000 to 5,000 hours of aggressive 24/7 use with static images on display.

Plasma screens also suffer from phosphor deterioration.

Plasma burning occurs when pixels on the screen are damaged through long exposure.

The phosphor loses its intensity and only shows the light it was fed repeatedly.

In this case, the still image, which causes the burn.
