The expiry date on Ocean Spray cranberry sauce is located on the bottom of the can and the expiration date of the Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce is in the format of 11Mar13.

The first 2 digits are the day, next 3 letters the month and the last 2 are the year.

Unopened cans of cranberry sauce can be used and eaten well past the expiration date.

As long as the can of cranberry sauce has not been opened and remains sealed the canned cranberry sauce is good for 10 years or more past the expiration date.

I've had cans of cranberry sauce that I forgot at the back of my pantry for 10 years before moving and the cranberry sauce was still good to eat.

Canned cranberry sauce once opened will last for up to 7 days in the refrigerator.

Once you open a can of cranberry sauce and have leftover cranberry sauce you should put the leftover cranberry sauce into an airtight container or at least a container with a lid and then refrigerate it.

The canned cranberry sauce will be good for up to a week once refrigerated.

Jellied Cranberry Sauce can be frozen but Jellied Cranberry Sauce does not freeze very good and the texture can change when frozen.

However for the homemade variety of jellied cranberry sauce it freezes well and better than canned cranberry sauce does.

When frozen the jellied cranberry sauce should last up to 6 months before it goes bad.

Cranberry Sauce and Cranberry Jelly are the same thing but just come in different forms.

The main difference between the cranberry sauce and cranberry jelly is in the pectin that it contains.

The cranberry jelly is solid enough to retain the shape of the container in which it's placed whereas the cranberry sauce version is much more fluid.

Some people warm up canned cranberry sauce and some people just serve the canned cranberry sauce cold or at room temperature right out of the can.

You can serve the canned cranberry sauce either way.

My mom would warm up canned cranberry sauce before she served it and my Grandma always served the canned cranberry sauce cold.

It's all up to you and is a personal preference.

If you prefer the canned cranberry sauce warm then warm it up but if not you can serve it cold or at room temperature.

Cranberry sauce is usually served cold or chilled.

But if you want to heat the cranberry sauce up you can do so.

I like my cranberry sauce heated up so that it's warm but not too hot as it tastes better than being chilled or served cold.

However I do sometimes like to make cranberry sauce sandwiches by placing cold cranberry sauce out of the can onto some bread and eat it that way.

But when you eat cranberry sauce for Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner it's traditionally served cold or chilled but it's okay to eat it warmed up if that's the way you prefer it.
