The healthiest type of cutting board is a plastic cutting board that is easier to clean and won't absorb bacteria.

Wood cutting boards can absorb bacteria and germs from foods such as raw meat but a plastic cutting board cannot and won't absorb that bacteria and it's much cleaner and more sanitary to use a plastic cutting board and wash it.

Raw meat can be cut on a wood cutting board but make sure to clean it off to get rid of bacteria.

A plastic cutting board however is much better and cleaner for cutting raw meat on because it's easily washed and the bacteria cannot be absorbed in the wood cutting board.

If you do use a wood cutting board for raw meat it's best to have separate wood cutting boards which would be one cutting board for the raw meat and another wood cutting board for vegetables or other non meat that you're cutting.
