Cumberland Pie and Cottage Pie are similar as Cumberland Pie is made with mashed potatoes, gravy, and lots of vegetables.

The difference between cottage pie and Cumberland pie is, you can use whichever meat you prefer (I use ground beef) and it's topped with a sprinkle of our homemade, cheesy bread crumb mixture.

Cottage pie is topped with Cheddar Cheese while some Cumberland Pie is not.

Yes you do put cheese on top of a cottage pie.

The best cheese to put on top of a cottage pie is Cheddar Cheese.

Cottage pie when cooked will keep up to 5 days in the fridge.

But it's best to eat the cooked cottage pie within a few days of refrigerating it for the best taste.

You can also freeze the cooked cottage pie and it will last up to 6 months when frozen.

You can keep a cooked cottage pie in the fridge for up to 5 days before the cooked cottage pie goes bad.

After 3 days though in the fridge the cooked cottage pie starts to go stale so it would be best to eat the cooked cottage pie within those 3 days but it will still be safe for up to 5 days in the fridge.

After 5 days in the fridge the cooked cottage pie can start to grow mold and other bacteria which can make you sick if you eat it.

You could freeze the cooked cottage pie though and it should last a few months before it goes bad.

But it's best to eat the cooked cottage pie even when frozen as soon as possible if you want the best taste and freshness.
