To freeze Mozzarella you should first remove any water content or moisture from the Mozzarella Cheese.

Then put the Mozzarella into freezer bags or Ziploc bags and lay the freezer bag flat.

Frozen Mozzarella Cheese lasts for up to a year.

However it's best to use the frozen Mozzarella Cheese within a few months to 6 months of freezing it because the longer the Mozzarella remains frozen the less fresh it becomes.

The frozen mozzarella will remain safe to eat for up to a year and sometimes longer when frozen.

Mozzarella cheese can be frozen.

Fresh mozzarella cheese though has a high water content to it which causes the fresh mozzarella cheese to form ice crystals on the cheese.

So it's best to avoid freezing fresh mozzarella cheese.

But other mozzarella cheese freezes okay but just note that sometimes the texture of the mozzarella cheese may change and the mozzarella cheese may become crumbly if frozen.

Shredded mozzarella cheese or block mozzarella cheese are okay and fine to freeze but they tend to get a crumbly texture when frozen.

It's best to eat or use the mozzarella cheese within a few months of freezing otherwise it gets less fresh but the frozen mozzarella cheese will last for up to a year.

Frozen cheese is best used in cooking or baking where you won't notice the change in texture or taste.
