Pork and beans are not bad for diabetics.

Actually pork and beans are good for diabetics and beans are considered to be a super food for diabetics.

The beans in pork and beans are also low on the glycemic index which means the beans can help the diabetic person manage their blood sugar levels better than many other starchy foods.

Some good side dishes to eat pork and beans with is ground beef, mashed potatoes, cheesy mashed potatoes, hot dogs, chili, steak, sausage, bowl of mixed vegetables.

You can also mix some cooked carrots or celery in with your pork and beans which makes them even healthier and makes them more filling as well.

A baked potato, hush puppies, corn dogs or even a fried egg or fried egg sandwich goes well with pork and beans.

Or some sausage, bacon, cream cheese on top of the pork and beans or scrambled eggs are good for eating alongside pork and beans.

Some other side dishes that go well with pork and beans are coleslaw, slaw, corn, and kale and mustard greens.

Even some squash such as fried squash goes well with pork and beans.
