The blue potatoes come in a variety of different types.

The most common blue potato is the Vitelotte potato which was cultivated and grown specifically to be blue.

Blue potatoes are also known originated in the United States from Cornell University where they were first grown and cultivated to be blue.

Another name for blue potatoes is Adirondack Blue.

The Adirondack Blue potato is the variety of potato that has blue flesh and skin with a slight purple tint, released by Cornell University potato breeders Robert Plaisted, Ken Paddock, and Walter De Jong in 2003.

There are some other varieties of blue potatoes but the Adirondack Blue Potato is the most common.

I've tasted blue potatoes and to me they don't taste any different than white potatoes do.

The blue potatoes also have more antioxidants in them than other potatoes so blue potatoes are supposed to be healthier for you than regular potatoes.

Blue potatoes are grown and cultivated to be blue.

The blue potatoes are just a different species of potato although to me the blue potatoes taste near the same if not the same as white potatoes do.
