Sweet Potatoes have a shelf life of up to 5 weeks when they are not cut.

Whole sweet potatoes will last for up to 5 weeks before they start going bad.

If the sweet potato gets soft, mushy or smells bad then the sweet potato is bad and should be thrown out.

Once you cut the sweet potato the cut sweet potato will last for up to 3 days.

If you cut up sweet potatoes they should be refrigerated or blanched and then frozen.

Blanching the sweet potatoes before freezing them prevents them from becoming soggy when you thaw them out.

Sweet potatoes when whole should be stored in a cool dark place such as a cellar or in a dark pantry.
