When you need to tone down peppers in soup you can add a little bit of sugar, lemon juice or adding some more broth.

Sometimes simply adding some more broth to the hot soup will tone down the hot peppers enough to make them less hot.

However sometimes that is not enough and you may need to add a pinch of sugar to the soup or even some lemon juice.

And if possible you may need to remove some of the peppers if you can if they are too hot for you.

If the hot peppers are chunky enough you can usually scoop out the excess hot peppers so that you don't have to eat them.

Also drinking some milk can help cool down your mouth when you do eat hot peppers as well.

The milk helps to dilute the hot pepper so that it does not burn your mouth or tongue.

Adding a bit of milk to the soup can also help if you like milk in your soup.
