As far as we know the oldest known soup is the “pot-au-feu” in Normandy which had reportedly been cooking for 300 years, and another one in Perpignan that began in the 1400s but didn't survive World War II.

Another old soup is the Wattana Panich soup but we're not sure if it's really the oldest but it well could be the oldest soup.

When it comes to cold soup there are a variety of different cold soups that have different names.

Cold soups can be called different names as there's more than one cold soup which have been made since ancient times.

In warm climates, or in summer, many cultures make traditional cold soups.

These soups tend to be lighter than winter soups and typically contain less fat and meat per serving.

Some of the cold soups are purely vegetable based but many also use light meat or fish stocks.

A list of cold soups are, Avocado Soup, Ajoblanco, Saltibarsciai, Bannana Soup, Gazpacho, Fruit Soup, Naengmyeon, Naengguk, Okroshka, Salmorejo, Sorrel soup, Swedish fruit soup, Tarator and Vichyssoise.
