Yes the Sweet Potato is a resistant starch.

A resistant starch is  a type of carbohydrate that resists normal digestion in the small intestine and instead ferments in the large intestine.

As the fibers ferment they act as a prebiotic and feed the good bacteria in the gut.

That means that sweet potatoes can be hard for some people to digest properly especially if the person has digestive issues.

However sweet potatoes are usually easily digested for most people and they are full of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and are very healthy.

Sweet potatoes are just as healthy as regular potatoes.

White Flesh Sweet Potatoes are higher in resistant starch than other sweet potatoes or other potatoes in general.
