Homemade bacon will last in the fridge for up to a week as long as you keep the homemade bacon refrigerated and make sure the refrigerator is on the coldest setting.
In the freezer homemade bacon will last for up to a year but after 6 months the homemade bacon will be less fresh.
So it's best to eat the homemade bacon within 6 months of freezing it or within 5 to 6 days of refrigerating it.
If you've left the homemade bacon in the fridge longer than 7 days then it's likely bad and should be thrown out.
The bad bacon will have a sour smell to it and have a really slimy texture and feeling to the bacon as well.
Raw bacon lasts for 4 to 7 days in the refrigerator but when frozen raw bacon lasts much longer because the cold temperatures of the freezer prevent bacteria from growing on the bacon.
The same is true for other meats as well.
