The majority of soy that is planted and grown is used and sold as animal feed.
The number one animal that eats the most soybeans as feed are poultry such as chickens.
Out of 100 percent of the soybeans that are grown and planted 70 percent of the soybeans are sold and used for animal feed.
The rest of the soybeans which the other 30 percent of the soybeans are used for foods that contain soy products including soy milk.
So 30 to 40 percent of soybeans and soy is used for human consumption while the rest of the soy is used for animal consumption.
Soy is grown both in the USA and out of the country as well and some soy is imported into the USA as well from other places.
But the majority of soy used and consumed in the USA does come from the USA.
