A glass stove top stove can use any type of pan or pot so long as they are not too heavy.
The types of pans or pots you don't want to use on a glass stove top are those such as cast iron, stoneware, and other glass or ceramic pots, pans or other cookware.
Other types of pans will work just fine on the stove.
Induction stoves however do require certain special pans to work because they use a magnetic field to heat up the pan.
The stove top itself does not get hot but the pan does through induction cooking process.
So for example you could not use a glass pan on the induction stove top because it will not work.
Any induction cookware or pans must be made of magnetic material such as cast iron, steel etc.
If the pan is not magnetic such as aluminum or stainless steel then it will not work on the induction cook top stove.
