Can you get salmonella from pork?

Yes you could get salmonella poisoning from pork or any other meat that gets contaminated with it.

But you would only get salmonella poisoning if you don't fully cook the pork all the way through.

Once you cook the pork all the way through and bring the pork up to a high enough temperature then the salmonella will be killed off in the pork.

The same goes for eggs and other meats that could be infected with Salmonella.

The salmonella cannot survive the high temperatures when you cook the food.

Fully and properly cooked pork or any other food will not have the active salmonella in it to infect you.

So if your pork or eggs or whatever has salmonella in it then if you cook it good enough then there's no risk of salmonella poisoning.
