Slim Jim jerky is not the healthiest Jerky there is to eat.

But Slim Jims are not all bad for you and they are a better and healthier snack than candy or other junk food.

Eating Slim Jims in moderation is okay because they do contain protein and are meat which we need for health but eating too many Slim Jim jerky could be bad for you because they can contain a lot of sodium.

But you would really have to eat around 1,000 Slim Jims within a week or so before they caused a potential health issue.

Eating a few Slim Jims per day is not gonna really harm you at all.

Making your own beef jerky is worth it if you like making your own jerky and if you want to ensure you get the healthiest beef jerky.

You will save a little bit of money when making your own beef jerky but only a little bit of money.

The savings when making your own beef jerky is not a lot but you do save some money but you also have to factor in the time it takes you to make your own beef jerky.

I make some of my own beef jerky because I love making fresher beef jerky and it tastes much better than store bought beef jerky does and I use my own ingredients and know what is going in it.

However if you're just making homemade jerky to save money then it's not worth it.

When making beef jerky in a home electric meat dehydrator you do need to flip the beef jerky over at least every 4 hours while the beef jerky is dehydrating.

However I once when I first began making homemade beef jerky just left the beef jerky in the dehydrator without flipping it and it did dry out just fine.

It just took longer to dehydrate both sides of the beef jerky when I didn't flip it over in the dehydrator.

So while you don't have to flip the beef jerky over in the dehydrator it's recommended to do so to speed up the dehydration time of the beef jerky.

If your dehydrator rack has vent holes on both sides then you may not need to flip the jerky over.

But if not then you should flip the jerky over every 4 hours or so to speed up the dehydration time of the beef jerky.
