Why has google not indexed all the pages on my website?

I have a wordpress blog with 4,000 blog posts and google has only crawled and indexed 500 of my blog posts.

Some of the blog posts that aren't indexed are over a year old.

Why hasn't google listed these blog posts in their google search index?

There's no guarantee that google will index all your content on the google search index.

But your older posts might get crawled and indexed in another year. I've had that happen to me. I had blog posts that didn't get indexed until 2 years after I written them.

That was probably due to my domain being new and not having many good backlinks.

Also try interlinking your blog posts when you have another relevant blog post to the one you wrote then link to that other blog post in your current blog post.

Internal linking of your own pages can help google crawl your website better.

Also the longer your website has been online the more often google tends to crawl the websites and the google bot tends to crawl your older website deeper than a new website.

So just give it time and don't give up.
