The pork and beans are usually made with rehydrated navy beans and then also some cured salt pork or other pork renderings depending on the company who makes the canned pork and beans.

So if you're vegan then you would want to avoid pork and beans because of the pork that pork and beans contain.

You could remove the pork from the pork and beans and still have the flavor but then the beans would just be beans.
