The reason you do not wash meat, poultry or eggs is because of the potential to spread bacteria from the meats and eggs to other foods.
However you can wash the outside of the eggshell in the sink to clean it especially if the eggs are farm fresh eggs or eggs from your chickens.
You should wash those eggs before cracking them open to avoid the bacteria getting into the egg itself.
But the meat and poultry should never be washed before cooking it because when you wash that meat and poultry when raw you spread bacteria around in the sink.
That bacteria can then transfer to other food or even your dishes or hands.
There's no need to wash off the meat or poultry because when you fully cook the meat or poultry the bacteria in the meat will be killed off so it doesn't make you sick.
