Cabbage is high in fructans which means the cabbage is a gas producing vegetable.
Some people who do eat cabbage may experience stomach pain and even gas or bloating which is normal.
If you're experiencing stomach pain when eating cabbage then you may have to stop eating cabbage or slow down on the amount of cabbage you eat.
Also because the cabbage is high in fructans, a type of carb that individuals with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) often have a difficult time digesting.
So if you do have irritable bowel syndrome then it can be hard for you to digest the cabbage and then you may also experience the digestive issues.
You can still eat a bit of cabbage when you have irritable bowel syndrome but not as much and if it does really start hurting your stomach then it might be best to not eat any cabbage although cabbage is very healthy for you.
