Brown frozen meat is not bad as long as it smells good and has not got a slimy feeling to it.

The brown frozen meat is usually due to a lack of oxygen to the meat and meat can naturally change colors from the bright pink or red color when fresh to a brown or gray color when frozen.

If it's freezer burn on the meat it's still okay to eat it.

Having ice crystals on your meat in the freezer can sometimes mean the meat has freezer burn but not always.

Sometimes it's just simply because the molecules in the meat turned into ice crystals which is okay and harmless.

Even when meat develops freezer burn the freezer burned meat is also harmless and is very safe to eat.

However the taste of the meat changes and it's not as appetizing when the meat has freezer burn but it's okay to eat the freezer burned meat.

Freezer burned meat is still safe to eat so no eating freezer burned meat will not hurt you.

The freezer burn on the meat just changes the taste and quality of the meat but it does not pose any harm to your health when you cook the freezer burned meat.

Just make sure you cook the meat fully and you can safely eat the freezer burned meat.

I like to throw the freezer burned meat into soups and stews but I will eat it just like it is too.

Meat would only be able to rot in the freezer if it got warmer than 0 F for too long in the freezer.

Such as if the freezer were unplugged or the power went out to the freezer or the freezer quit working and could not keep the meat cold enough or cold at all.

Then in those cases the meat could rot in the freezer and spoil in the freezer.

But as long as the meat remains frozen the meat actually can last for a long time and still be safe to eat.

Although the longer the meat is in the freezer the less fresh and tasty it becomes.

But it's still very safe to consume it.

And according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, any food stored at exactly 0°F is safe to eat indefinitely.
