Is it okay to leave a laptop computer plugged in all the time?

When not in use is it okay to just leave the laptop computer plugged into the laptop charger all the time?

It won't hurt your laptop to leave it plugged in all the time when not in use.

The battery will automatically stop charging when it's fully charged.

People leave there laptops plugged in when they're using them at home to keep the battery up.
