Canned beets as well as fresh beets contain natural nitrate but not nitric oxide.

However your body changes the natural nitrates in the beets into nitric oxide through a natural chemical reaction in your body.

When your body changes the nitrates in the beets into nitric oxide that nitric oxide helps with blood flow and blood pressure.

The beets including canned beets, beetroot juice as well as fresh beets can boost stamina to help you exercise longer, improve blood flow, and help lower blood pressure.

So yes you will get nitric oxide in your body through eating canned beets but it's not already in the canned beets but instead the nitric oxide is produced by your body after you eat the canned beets.

Beets are naturally high in nitrates, which are turned into nitric oxide in the body.

Raw beets contain more vitamins, minerals and antioxidants than cooked beets.

Like many vegetables, the longer you cook beets (especially in water), the more of the colorful phytonutrients leach out of the food and into the water.

Retain the good-for-you nutrients in beets by roasting them or sautéing them instead.

You can freeze cooked beets.
