Beetroot can cause constipation in some people.
The reason that some people experience constipation from beetroot is because of the low stomach acid that some people have.
That low stomach acid makes it difficult for some people to digest and absorb nutrients and because of that your body may have trouble metabolizing the red pigment in beetroot.
That can then lead to constipation.
Not everyone experiences constipation after eating beetroot but it's normal for some people to get constipated after eating beetroot.
Beetroot is very healthy for you though but if you're getting constipated from eating beetroot then you may need to stop eating beetroot or stop eating as much beetroot as you normally do.
Also some people get red poop after eating beetroot which is normal and goes away after you stop eating beetroot.
