Yes Frank's Sauerkraut is pasteurized for safety and to extend the shelf life of the sauerkraut.

That means since Frank's Sauerkraut is pasteurized there are no live bacteria or active probiotics like non pasteurized sauerkraut would have.

Most of the health benefits from sauerkraut come from the good bacteria and active probiotics but pasteurizing the sauerkraut kills those probiotics and good bacteria.

Still sauerkraut is healthy for you in other ways as well even when the probiotics are not active in the sauerkraut.

Once you open the Frank's Sauerkraut make sure to seal it back up and refrigerate it to extend it's shelf life.

If you want the best health benefits of sauerkraut you should ferment your own homemade sauerkraut or buy some non pasteurized sauerkraut.
