When the temperature gets to 32 F or below then the canned soda can and will eventually freeze.
The canned soda may not freeze enough to explode for a few hours but if you leave canned soda out in your car or truck or any other vehicle in freezing temperatures of 32 F or below then you can expect a mess of frozen soda to be inside your vehicle the next day.
It's happened to me.
I forgot I had an unopened can of soda in my cars cup holder and that night it was 20 F and the next morning when I went to get into my car I saw frozen soda all over the roof of the car inside and on my dash and seats.
It took some cleaning but I took it to a car cleaning service and let them do the cleaning while I worked at my job next a few blocks away.
They did a good job getting all that soda out and now I make sure to remove any canned soda or canned beverages out of the car on freezing days or nights.
