When renewing a domain name as long as it's not about to expire you can transfer the domain name to a new domain registrar.
There should be an option in your control panel on the domain registrars website that allows you to transfer domain to a new domain registrar.
But if you have registered your domain for the maximum of 10 years at a time you must wait until at least a year has passed so that a year comes off the domain names registration.
Because when you transfer the domain to a new domain registrar there's usually another year of time added to the domain registration.
If you cannot get the domain transferred yourself you can contact both domain registrars and they can help you transfer the domain out of your current registrar to the new domain registrar.
If you are not already using either namecheap or dynadot.com for domain registration I recommend either both of them.
I've been with dynadot.com for 10 years now and namecheap for 5 years.
