No maple syrup does not need to be refrigerated.
I've never refrigerated bottles of maple syrup and have just left the maple syrup out on my counter or on the dining room table so it's easily accessible when eating pancakes or toast.
I like to pour some maple syrup on toast as well or even just put some maple syrup on the plate and dip my toast in the maple syrup which makes the toast taste much better.
Refrigerating maple syrup keeps it away from ants and other bugs though and keeps the maple syrup fresher but I just leave the maple syrup out because we use a lot of it.
There's nothing in the maple syrup that will go bad if not refrigerated.
