The best way to store rice that is not cooked is to place the raw rice into a sealed airtight container which helps keep bugs and mice out of the rice.
You can also store the raw rice in the refrigerator in the sealed container or place bags of rice in the refrigerator or freezer.
When I buy extra bags of rice I place them in the freezer which keeps bug out of the rice and prevents mice or rats from getting into it as well.
Rats can still get into plastic containers so if you have rats around your house put the rice in the refrigerator or freezer to keep the rats, mice and bugs out of it.
If you have any cooked rice leftover you can place it in a plastic bag or container and either freeze it or refrigerate it and then to heat it back up just add some water to it and microwave it and then it will be ready to eat again.
