An electric oven is a high energy draw appliance when the electric oven is on and cooking meals.

Most electric ovens use between 2,500 to 5,000 watts of electricity per hour so an hour of cooking in an oven can cost between $0.50 to as much as $1.00 per hour of cooking depending on the cost of electricity in your area.

I have an electric oven and I bake in it about 3 times per week and my electric bill goes up to $10.00 more per month when the oven is in use.

That's not all that expensive though to have a good meal over a months time of baking.

If you bake more often you'll use more electricity but it shouldn't put a big dent in your wallet when using an electric oven.

Gas ovens are more efficient and cheaper to run but all I have is an electric oven and hookup or I would use a gas oven.
