Yes you can use cottage cheese instead or ricotta cheese in Lasagna and the Lasagna will turn out just fine.

I've always used regular cottage cheese in my lasagna and never have used ricotta cheese in the lasagna.

Ricotta Cheese and Cottage Cheese are pretty similar and only difference is in the way they are produced.

The Cottage Cheese and Ricotta Cheese can be used interchangeably in recipes.

Both Cottage Cheese and Ricotta Cheese are pretty similar and can be used interchangeably in recipes that call for either ricotta cheese or cottage cheese.

Cottage Cheese is lumpier than Ricotta Cheese is and the texture is a bit different.

Ricotta Cheese is less lumpy and the texture of Ricotta Cheese is grainy, fine and moist whereas the Cottage cheese is not.

The main difference between the Cottage Cheese and Ricotta Cheese is in the way it's made but the cheese it basically the same thing that is used to make it.

So if a recipe calls for Cottage Cheese and all you have is Ricotta Cheese you can use it instead and if the recipe calls for Ricotta Cheese but you only have Cottage Cheese the Cottage cheese will work just fine.
