In England Clams are usually known as Palourde or Carpet Shell Clams.
Some people in England may just refer to clams as clams but some people in England may call them something different.
In some parts of the world clams can also be known as Quahogs but mostly they are called clams.
Some people eat Clams raw while other people may eat the Clams after they kill them and cook them.
You must kill the clam right before cooking them because if the clam is already dead way before cooking them then they could develop bacteria and make you sick.
So if the clam is already dead and has been longer than 30 minutes then you should throw it out because it could make you sick and give you food poisoning.
