Every year there are around 1.2 billion rabbits killed for food.
So at least 1.2 billion rabbits are eaten by humans per year which is quite a bit of rabbits.
Those 1.2 billion rabbits each year that are killed or slaughtered for meat means that those rabbits create 200 million tons of meat are produced from those slaughtered rabbits each year.
That's quite a bit of rabbit meat to feed quite a bit of people and although I like rabbits as pets and couldn't kill a rabbit myself for food I have no issue with other people killing rabbits for food.
Just like other animals kill other animals for food it's natural for humans to kill animals for food as well.
Also rabbit meat is very tasty and makes good soups and stews but I could never kill a rabbit myself but a friend of mine raises rabbits for slaughter and the meat and gives me some rabbit meat.
