You can use vinegar to remove the stickiness and slime from the okra.
Just soak the okra in a bowl of vinegar for at least 30 minutes then after 30 minutes of the okra soaking in the vinegar the sliminess and stickiness should be removed.
If you're cooking the okra in a skillet or pan you can add a bit of vinegar and lemon juice to the pan or skillet which will also help keep the okra from becoming sticky and slimy while cooking .
Sometimes slime from the okra may get onto your spatula or utensils while cooking the okra but you can and should just wipe off the slime to keep it out of the pan or skillet when cooking the okra.
Adding some chopped up tomato, a splash of lemon juice, vinegar etc or even some wine if you prefer can help prevent the okra from becoming slimy and sticky when cooking it.
