After you fry the food you should let the food sit up out of the fryer in the basket to drain off most of the cooking oil.

Then you can place the fried foods on paper towels which will also help absorb some of the oil from the fried foods.

You might also want to squeeze the fried foods to squeeze excess oil out of the foods but you probably won't be able to get all of the oil out no matter what you try.

After frying foods in my deep fryer I will always allow the frying basket to sit up out of the oil for 5 to 10 minutes which allows the cooking oil to drain off and it allows the food enough time to cool down as well.

Then I place the foods on a paper towel and squeeze the foods to remove more of the cooking oil.
