Yes double cream works just fine for cooking but don't use single cream for cooking because it could curl up and cause whatever you're cooking with the cream to turn out bad.
But double cream is perfect for cooking with and will not curl up when cooking like single cream will do.
Bakers and cake makers use double cream a lot when doing their baking and cooking and their recipes turn out just fine.
You can also serve the double cream directly on the foods such as fruit, pies, cake, puddings etc and it's delicious and makes the food taste much better as well.
I like to add some double cream to fruit I eat and on top of cakes when I make them as it makes the cakes and fruits taste much better.
Never had a problem cooking with double cream either as that's what it's made to do.
